List of Wilhelm's Powers

Foreword: Some of these are inferred from information taken from the game, and some are vague. However, we will never know what his full list of powers actually entail. Permissions posts will be in this thread, as comments.

  • Space-Time Manipulation: Being able to reduce an entire planet to Planck-scale (protip: That's the scale used to measure subatomic particles) and being able to open wormholes without the use of the UMN has shown that this is, indeed, one of his powers.
  • Gravity Manipulation: Somewhat ties into the above in theoretical physics, but still unique enough to be listed as a different power. In Episode Three, what he did to the entire part sans Shion and KOS-MOS seemed to be more tied to gravity, rather than a form of telekinesis. It looked like their bodies suddenly weighed much more than they should, rather than they were being forced to lie down through a telekinetic force. This could possibly extend to fancier gravity-based powers, such as the creation of black holes and gravity wells.
  • Ether: Xenosaga's equivalent to the typical magic system found in almost every RPG, but is a bit more science-y in nature; such as using nanomachines instead of supernatural phenomena. chaos and Mary (as KOS-MOS, at least) can use it, so it stands to reason that Wilhelm can, as well.
  • Creation of Testaments: Turning dead souls (usually with Shining Wills) into near-omnipotent beings tied to his will. However, the game and Ultimate Guide indicates that Wilhelm cannot convert a dead soul into a Testament against that soul's will; they must agree to it. And due to Wilhelm's personality, he always tells a prospective Testament what they're getting into ahead of time, and that they are sacrificing virtually everything that makes them human. This power will generally be omitted from most games he is in, due to it being a way to cheat death. It will only be done if a game event specifically calls for it. In any other case, the only way a Testament will exist in a game he's in is if someone actually applies for one.
  • Joshua: An ES-like mech that he pilots, but is powered by Wilhelm himself instead of a Vessel of Anima. Wilhelm seems to be able to control Joshua whether he's piloting it or not, implying that it's not just a mech, but an extension of himself that he can control as if it were his own body. It's actual abilities are unknown, unless the attacks of the final boss of Xenosaga 3 count (which Joshua was only a small part of).
  • Immortality/Incorporeal Body: Wilhelm had his arm cut off and a Testament's hand rammed through his chest, and he didn't even flinch or bleed, implying that his body isn't even natural or physical. It's worth mentioning that while Wilhelm has an absolutely insane tolerance for pain (if he can even feel it at all) and while it takes a lot to 'kill' him, his body can most definitely be destroyed. It just... takes a bit more work than it would for anyone else. Also, note that it only destroys his physical presence; his soul can likely just create another body down the line. This power can be omitted at the mods' discretion.
  • 'Mental Torture': Wilhelm tortured Shion (and Kevin, later), and specifically said she wouldn't die from it. In addition, there were no physical marks on her, and she seemed to be just fine (if a bit disoriented) afterwards. This would imply that somehow, Wilhelm was stimulating the pain receptors in Shion's brain without there being an actual, physical cause for the pain. It almost seems like a type of mind control.
  • Illusions: Testaments can create illusions, so it stands to reason that Wilhelm can, as well. The Testaments mess with peoples' minds in a way that affect all five senses found in most living organisms; what this translates to are hyper-realistic illusions with no real way to see through them (without the use of another supernatural ability), which are so realistic that they can cause psychosomatic harm. This might actually be what the 'mental torture' described above is, although that is more likely a specific application of this ability.
  • Telepathy: How Wilhelm communicates with Testaments over long distances. It is likely that he can do this with everyone else, as well.
  • Compass of Order and Chaos: An "Artifact of God" that allows Wilhelm to observe the movements of the Collective Unconscious, allowing him to predict all possible futures. However, as it doesn't show him which future is the future that is going to happen as "no future is set in stone," it isn't 100% reliable; but it does, however, allow Wilhelm to plan things much easier. Also, it may allow Wilhelm to know things about your character he may not otherwise know, such as their name, where they're from, any significant details about them, and what they are capable of; but this will not extend to metagaming/info-modding their intentions, plans, et cetera. As the Compass is an "Artifact of God," only Wilhelm (and likely chaos and Mary Magdalene, as well) are able to use it; it was not meant to be touched by human hands, let alone used by someone whose mind can't handle the combined knowledge of all living things in the universe. Anyone else who tries will have their minds shattered, killing them.

It's fine if you use all of these with Tohko and chaos! Of course, if you have any questions or concerns due to an odd situation, you can ask, but I'm not against you using your powers on my characters.

I am OK with all of these!

Except one. The Compass of Order may not work right on a Nobody. I don't know this for certain, but their status as being completely unnatural, not supposed to exist at all, not part of any god's original plan, etc, may throw the Compass off horribly. Xemnas' affinity for Nothingness/the Void may further complicate the Compass' efforts to track him or what has gone in the past. I am open to discussion on it, as I'm just taking stabs.
